About Our Club
The Westie Club of the South was formed in 2003 by a group of enthusiastic Westie lovers who wanted to find others who shared their passion for the Westie breed. The Westie Club of the South, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Georgia in 2004 and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. For our supporters, this 501(c)(3) non-profit designation means that all or part of the donations made to the Westie Club of the South, Inc., may be tax deductible.
United in our love for the Westie breed, our Westie Rescue program searches shelters and other rescue organizations in Georgia for Westies in need of help. We also accept Westie surrenders from Georgia residents who can no longer care for their pet. We rescue the dogs and arrange for the necessary veterinary care to return them to health. Once they are healthy and cleared for adoption, they are available for adoption.
Rescues often have health issues, which can be costly, so club fundraisers are vital to provide the funds needed to pay for the veterinary bills. Club members also participate in fostering and adopting our rescues, as well as a variety of club events and volunteer opportunities, all vital to the success of our rescue program.
